Bob Shields

Part of

The Bowery

Bob has extensive experience as a freelance artist within the advertising and graphic design industries, using both traditional and digital methods of illustration. He began his career as an illustrator at the comparatively late age of 27 after sacrificing his safe but boring career as a buyer in the frozen food industry.

After a frustrating couple of years working in provincial England, Bob took a chance and packed the family off to Amsterdam, where he found a freelance spot in a large design and illustration agency. Over the next 6 years received a 'lifetime' of experience from a bunch of wonderful artists.

Whilst working in Melbourne, Bob has been assisted an array of wonderful creative people at ad agencies, design studios and blue chip corporations. In addition to his advertising and design work, he has illustrated numerous books, including children's books, educational tomes and the odd autobiography for celebrities.
