Karl Kwasny is an illustrator and typographer currently living in Brooklyn, New York.
Going through various different university courses, including multimedia, journalism, creative writing and film analysis, Karl graduated from a Bachelor of Design at Queensland College of Art in Brisbane. Towards the end of his degree, he reignited his childhood love for drawing, deciding to go out on his own as a freelance illustrator.
Karl creates delicate hand-lettering combined with detailed illustration through the use of his favourite tools: a #2 brush, pencils, watercolour and gouache, keeping a traditional and appealing imperfect style to his work.
Karl's ancestors on his mother's side were gardeners, and he has inherited a fondness for the pastime. He has a pet snake named Olivia, and owns a small taxidermy collection.
