This piece by Marguerite Sauvage is a real beauty. Each year the Rock en Seine music festival in Saint Cloud, France, invites 60 artists to represent the 60 participating acts; culminating in a large-scale exhibition. From there, a handful of these artists are selected to participate in an ‘avant première’ show in the Paris Duroc metro station – aptly renamed Du'rock for the occasion – whereby all advertising in the station is replaced by Rock en Seine artwork. It seems fitting that Marguerite was enlisted to illustrate everyone’s current music obsession – electronic darling Grimes – for the festival. Perhaps even more fitting is the fact that Marguerite’s work was one of the few selected to be displayed at the station. Du'Rock on.
