Jacky Winter sweetheart Kelly Thompson inked up a body full of tatts for the latest Victorian Aids Council ‘Drama Down Under’ campaign. The campaign aims to promote awareness and provide information about the most common STIs experienced by gay men. In keeping with the campaign tagline, we suggest you take a closer look – this skin has some surprises.

Supreme wall mural master Rudi De Wet has been at it again, this time around for Ballymore Properties. Rudi worked with Mark Smith to develop this fun and fantastical mural for Wapping in London. It seems not all walls were created equal, especially with Rudi on the case.

If we were a mandala, we’d want to be drawn by Becky and Louise from Good Wives and Warriors. Why? Because we’d be the coolest mandalas kicking around. That’s right, the coolest. Good Wives are presenting their second solo show, ‘The Squaring of the Circle’, at London’s Space In Between, which features fourteen mind-blowing mandalas and a floor-based painting installation. If you happen to be in that psychedelic neck of the woods, it runs from December 10 to January 14 (with a few cheeky days o…

A small while ago when the Occupy Wall Street movement was in full swing, recent NY resident Matt Huynh wandered down to Liberty Plaza Park and drew every placard on display. The end result was a poster that has since been published on the Occupy Wall Street Journal and been on display at the JP Morgan Building. If you’re a 99% schmo like us and would like a copy of this piece for yourself, the colour version is still available for download on the Occuprint website.

Launch! Launch! That’s right, it’s a double launch. Publishers of all things pretty Erm Books are not only hitting us once, but two times, with the launch of Beci Orpin’s Compendium of Me and Marc Martin’s Silent Observer. Here is a quote we ripped about the books: “Playful and personal in equal measure, Compendium of Me is Orpin’s debut book and traces the objects, spaces and foodstuffs that define her colour-drenched creative and domestic life. Silent Observer continues Martin’s vivid…

The alphabet rocks. Seriously, it’s extremely useful. For example, we totally wouldn’t be able to write this post if we weren’t able to embrace its all encompassing power. The Small Print obviously had the same epiphany and approached 26 of the globe’s most kick-ass artists to create two original illustrations – a letter and an illustration based on that letter. Unsurprisingly, a couple of Jacky Winter darlings were asked to dive into this alphabet soup, including Rilla Alexander with her ’D'

We’ve been keeping the scrumptious Kelly Thompson all to ourselves for way too long. Seriously, this lady is tops. Hailing from the far lands of Rotorua in New Zealand, Kelly has been crafting the world’s most sultry hyper-babes since the turn of the century. That’s right, Kelly not only makes illustration happen, she actually makes illustration happen. With the ability to execute eyes more soulful than Saturday Night Fish Fry, Kelly’s game is delicate, feminine illustration. Be sure to devour …

Jacky Winter’s Tom Simpson never fails to seduce us with his heartbreakingly elegant illustrations. Just one quick glance at his latest poster for the New Zealand International Film Festival and we’ve fallen even deeper in love. Tom has been producing the posters for the roving festival for a number of years now, with each one somehow outdoing the last. This is one romance guaranteed to last.

We have something that will transform you into a gift giving genius this Christmas. Seriously, present recipients will bow down in your presence. We’ve teamed up with Sunday Morning Designs to create a publication of otherworldly proportions. Titled ‘Possible Worlds 2’, this oversized poster book picks up where the original colouring book left off (after five sold-out runs!). Featuring the impossibly magical black and white illustrations of Jacky Winter’s own Dylan Martorell, the book contains …

When Eleven PR wanted to highlight the number of laptops that are lost, accidentally broken and stolen in NSW every year for NRMA, they enlisted Jacky Winter’s Kate Banazi to pimp up lifestyle journalist Melissa Hoyer’s dream machine. Kate picked out the key elements in Melissa’s crazy schedule, such as invitations, lippy and shoes, plane tickets, a smidge of social media and lego, and transformed Melissa’s laptop with a super sweet screenprint mash-up.

Paper must cower and coo whenever Stuart McLachlan comes near. The things he can do with a blade are truly phenomenal. That’s pretty much why we wish we could zip over to Adelaide right now. Stuart is exhibiting his perfect paper craft in a show at the University of South Australia’s Kerry Packer Civic Gallery, titled ‘Paper Plains’. Radelaidians – you better get in quick, as ‘Paper Plains’ closes next Wednesday November 30.

Ah, hump day. It’s the perfect day to dream about the weekend ahead and reminisce about the weekend just past. Last Saturday we opened up the Good Weekend in our crisp copies of The Age (and/or Sydney Morning Herald) and ogled two very fine illustrations by two of our very fine illustrators. One of our latest recruits, Tom Simpson, absolutely blew us away with his vintage style illustration for an article about the seedy Gold Coast. We turned a few pages to find Jacky Winter favourite Ben…

The result was Yellovator – a game that traverses three digital platforms with the aim of connecting bright young things with Yellow Pages. When this colouring book arrived at the Jacky Winter office, there was so much excitement a small melee formed. It’s true – we get violent when nice illustration is involved. A small while ago, Jane Reiseger was approached by the National Gallery of Australia to develop this very fine colouring book. The book takes the ‘colourer’ on a jaunt through Canberra to the NGA, where national treasures are just gagging for a spot of texta. Seriously, this colouring book is so nice we think it deserves a…

Jacky Winter’s Christopher Nielsen really is the master of editorial illustration. Chris' latest offerings come from publications such as (from the top) Reader’s Digest, Gardening Australia, Law Institute Journal and BRW. We’re particularly fond of the Law Institute Journal’s solicitor taking an extra cake commission, plus the romance of the Reader’s Digest outback psychiatrist. Forget the articles – we’re so busy lapping up these illustrations that we don’t have time for words.

We’re proud to announce that yet another super skilled storyboard artist has joined the ranks at Jacky Winter. The Bowery nest has the pleasure of welcoming the ridiculously talented Eddie Chau. Anyway, after moving through the worlds of graphic design and advertising, Eddie has now firmly settled into a…
