What’s the most important object in your studio?
I love a book I have had since I was a kid…The Happy Lion’s Quest illustrated by Roger Duvoisin.

If you could resurrect one no longer living person to have lunch with, knowing you will have to return them to the grave right after coffee, who would it be?
Paul Klee. I’m not sure if I’d say much – I’d hope he’d bring one of his sketch books and I could flick through it and say how beautiful his work is.We would have lunch in a outside leafy garden café with dappled light.
Preferred method of dealing with an encounter with an acquaintance whose name you can’t remember.

A lot.

There have been lots of great clients.
Favourite imaginary client?
Jamie Oliver. I would love to work on a cookbook with him or paint a mural in one of his restaurants.
How does your mother describe your profession?
Illustrators are creative interpretors.

Coffee out / tea in.
What’s your earliest drawing memory?
Drawing fairy lands on big bits of paper. I stuck on heaps of sequins.
How do you prefer to spend your mornings?
Riding my bike to Williamstown and watching the sun rising over the water and the city.
