Janet is a 3D illustrator from Toronto. She makes fun illustrations and animated GIFs for editorial and brands. Janet is inspired by dark humour, feminism, her inner child and loves to find the joy in the mundane details of everyday life. She loves improv comedy, electronic music and exploring nature.

Janet has worked with clients such as Google, The New York Times, Planned Parenthood, GIPHY and The New Yorker. She extends a big thank you to her mom and dad for their sacrifices and hard work, and is lucky to be able to make a living through creativity.

Dreams. I'll tell you about the extremely vivid and likely scary or completely mundane dream I had the other night. It'll involve frustratingly running away at half the speed of real life.

Getting anxious and then telling myself that growth starts outside my comfort zone. Doing the thing while anxious.

The ones you get 100% creative freedom and the client is 100% cool with it and it maybe also happens to pay your living expenses well.

Respect and value my work and time, are cooperative and are clear in their direction.

My solution to creative block is…

Take a break by NOT doing the thing I'm blocked in. Finding lots of joy and peace outside of that. Then coming back with a fresh and energized mind.

I’d describe my style as…

Light, goofy and fun with flecks of weird and/or dark.
