Neka King
Bio
Atlanta-based interdisciplinary artist Neka King creates illustrations and murals influenced by a love of colour, shapes, minimalism, and aesthetics found in traditional African and diasporic Black culture. Neka studied Textile Art at the Ernest G Welch School of Design at Georgia State and her work was twice awarded the Maron Bowen David Award (2015 & 2016) and nominated for the Windgate Fellowship in 2016.
She has collaborated on projects with Patagonia at their new Atlanta store, Nike, H&M, Refinery29 and AT&T at Mercedes Benz Stadium. Over the last few years, Neka has also created work for several community-driven organisations in Atlanta, including a mural for the West End community, commemorating the legacies of three important civil rights leaders: John Lewis, Rev C.T. Vivian, and Rev. Joseph E. Lowery.
