Rebecca ter Borg

Auckland-based illustrator and muralist Rebecca ter Borg (yes, the ‘t’ is lower case) makes organic loopy shapes that capture the intertwining relationship between the natural world and human constructs. Taking inspiration from botanicals, overgrown gardens and trippy illustrated vintage picture books, Rebecca gives reality a twist and spreads some magic through everyday objects and scenes.

Rebecca illustrated portraits of five significant women for New Zealand’s version of the Goodnight Stories for Rebel Girls series, and is most known for her work creating beer labels featuring flowing botanical scenes in soft pastel palettes for local NZ brewery Garage Project and their range of quirky craft beers, challenging the typical ‘masculine’ branding of traditional beer labelling.
