Sonny & Biddy

Sydney-based Sonny Day and Biddy Maroney are illustration team Sonny & Biddy, making art with bold blocks of colour that engage, challenge and deliver a message. They are known for their distinctive book covers, posters, posters of cats, and cats with posters on them.

Each brings something different to the team: Sonny takes care of all the concept, composition and sketching, Biddy introduces the colour, textural rendering and brings the end product.

Sonny & Biddy have created gig posters for Popfrenzy, editorial for The Washington Post, the hero image for Sydney Opera House new production of Hair: The Musical, and character portraits of Yzma and Kronk from The Emperor’s New Groove for Disney.
